The maintenance facility is located within the heritage boundary (curtilage) for Eveleigh which was listed on the State Heritage Register in 1999. Although the ACDEP has not been identified in any previous studies, as a heritage item itself – generally, all works within the curtilage require approval/notification to the NSW Heritage Branch.

This commission included the coordination of a Multidiscipline Consultant Team and the Submission of a Section 57 Notice of Exemption to the Heritage Branch on behalf of RailCorp.
