Set in the exclusive coastal Little Bay Estate, CCG’s beach house design has attracted much attention from passers by.
Having designed 150 homes in his career Stephen Caldis said “This home’s planning is set on a tight triangular piece of land with 270° views. Our goal was to maximise the opportunities of the site. The architecture is sensitive to beach house ethos, maintaining light weight construction to the second storey, which is clad in sycon axon vertical boarding. As the site is wind swept, the design started with a large north facing exterior deck roofed at a 6 metre height to accommodate 40 guests, and provides enclosure on three sides to protect the guests from the Southerly wind exposure. The result has been amazing, it works in a gale. Three living pavilions radiate off this deck and central open stair core.
The owners are absolutely delighted with their home and the new life style that it has brought to them.
