Moore Park Sports Centre

Moore Park Sports Centre project was part of a PPP (Private-Public-Partnership) for the early works on the Sydney Light Rail (SLR). All these sites are located at Centennial Park & Moore Park. The proposed alignment of the light rail impacts on the Parklands and its existing facilities. The existing facilities include basketball courts, netball courts, cricket fields and softball diamonds.

The project included a new amenity building for the netball courts, new car park for the tennis centre and relocation of the existing AFL training field. The new amenities and building for the netball courts is a single storey building located facing the courts, which are adjacent. The building contains an office, meeting rooms, store, kiosk, male and female toilets, male and female showers and change rooms, an accessible toilet and outdoor seating area. The key requirement of the brief was to provide an upgraded modern facility which satisfies the existing users. The building has a distinct external colour scheme which includes dark ceramic finished bricks and bright green coloured cladding.
