Moree Police Station
Engaged as Principal Lead Consultant for the provision of Architectural, Structural Engineering and Engineering Services for the design, documentation and attendance during construction.
CCG Architects undertook the design and documentation for a new Regional Local Area Command Police Station at Moree, NSW. This building provides up to date facilities for the Moree Plains area represented within a light and contemporary development to Frome Street through its use of materials and juxtaposition to the surrounding built environment.
The proposed building breaks the form horizontality, with the ground level being face brickwork and the upper level light-weight cladding. This visually breaks the structure into smaller forms and creates an elegant horizontality. The red face brick responds to the brickwork of the neighbouring buildings. The western and eastern elevations are protected with vertical louvres, in natural anodized aluminium. The roof is a simple skillion, sloping up towards the north – opening up to the sun and creating a dialogue with the space in front of the Courthouse.
The horizontally of the roof of north elevation is continued for the full elevation. The wall elevations are divided into different elements. This design will add a level of complexity and visual interest to the façade.
CCG accelerated the delivery of the project by providing a large team.
