NSW Regional Court House BCA & DDA Upgrades
This project involved the upgrade of 22 regional and remote courts to improve compliance with both the Building Code of Australia and the Disability Discrimination Act.
CCG were engaged to design and document,
based on BCA/DDA and Heritage assessment, in order to facilitate DDA upgrade works for selected Local Courts. CCG liaised with major stakeholders during the tender documentation process.
Our services also included the issue of tender documentation to an agreed time frame, including the resolution of all relevant RFIs and any design issues arising throughout the tender and construction period.
Various Regional & Rural Locations across NSW included Balmain, Belmont, Bombala, Byron Bay, Casino, Coonabarabran, Coonamble, Corowa, Crookwell Local, Dungog, Forbes, Gilgandra, Glen Innes, Gulgong, Kurri Kurri, Oberon, Quirindi, Scone, Tamworth, Temora, Tenterfield, Toronto, Warialda, Warren and Gunnedah.
Prior to this, CCG were also involved in the upgrade of several country courthouses for the Department of Attorney General & Justice office. These are often individual heritage items, which required special design consideration.
The works were generally to provide for accessibility from the street to the main areas of the court. This work included new ramps, door treatment, and toilet facilities. They too were in country locations where the court will be in session on infrequent occasions, including Cooma, Cobar, Cootamundra, Gloucester, Eden & Moruya, and currently Tweed Heads, Kyogle, and Maclean.
