Mittagong Station Upgrade

The Mittagong Station Upgrade forms part of the Transport Access Program (TAP), a NSW Government initiative to provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure.

This a busy station with lots of pedestrian movement and commuters, so the upgrades and additional features installed will provide the community with a station precinct that is accessible to everyone, including those with a disability or limited mobility and customers with prams and luggage.

– improved amenities including ambulant toilets and a family accessible toilet

– upgraded CCTV and lighting for improved safety and security

– a new formal bus stop

– two upgraded accessible parking spaces and a kiss and ride space

– a new pedestrian crossing

Throughout the project, the station has remained open and fully functional to ensure minimal impact on commuters and staff.

The station upgrade was officially opened on October 1, 2020.
